The Academy Board of Directors has approved a revised set of Qualification Standards, which take effect Jan. 1, 2008.
Among the revisions: The scope of the standards has been broadened, and CE requirements have been strengthened. The new version of the standards will affect most practicing actuaries in the United States.
The revised standards "represent a significant step forward for the integrity of our profession," President Steve Lehmann wrote in a June letter to Academy members. The Academy's vice president for professionalism, Allan Ryan, noted that they are "consistent with the profession's goal of uniform continuing education requirements."
The new version of the standards was developed by the Academy's Committee on Qualifications.Click here to access the revised Qualification Standards.
